Anonymous words on a live map

Post one word. See what the people around you are saying.
sand1 is a map of right now. You post a single word — up to 30 characters — and it lands where you are. When other people nearby post the same thing, those posts become one trend on the map: a shape with a size, a direction, and a lifespan.
Nobody knows who posted what. There are no profiles, no followers, no likes.
HOW IT WORKS
1. Open the map. Trends near you appear as small characters, each one a word people are saying around you.
2. Tap one to join it. A single tap adds your voice and makes the trend grow.
3. Or post your own word. If it means the same as a trend that already exists, it merges into it. If it does not, you start a new one — a first wave for others to join.
TRENDS ARE ALIVE
A trend grows as people join and fades when they stop. Its shape stretches in the direction it is spreading, so you can see which way a mood is moving. Most trends last a few hours.
Nothing here is permanent and nothing is archived. If you missed it, it is gone.
Zoom out and the map becomes a globe, with points of light where the world is talking. Tap any word to translate it into your language.
ANONYMOUS BY DESIGN
- No account, no sign-up, no email address, no name.
- Your precise location is never sent. Coordinates are rounded on your device to roughly 150 meters before anything leaves it.
- Location is used only while the app is open, never in the background.
- You are never shown as a point on a map. Only groups are.
- No advertising, no advertising identifier, no tracking request.
Before a post is sent, sand1 checks it on your device for phone numbers, email addresses and other personal information, and asks you to rewrite it. That check never leaves your phone.
WHAT SAND1 IS NOT
It is not a social network. There is nothing to build up, no audience to grow, no history to keep. You cannot follow anyone and you cannot message anyone.
You can report any trend, and mute the ones you would rather not see. Trends that are reported enough times disappear from the map automatically.
